I had my ear done it a fit of teenage angst, but really have no desire to get anything else done.
It's like my dad said when I came out of the closet "I just don't get it, but it's OK."

I work with photoshop and I would like to have a dedicated graphics card
Can you explain that statement? I use windows pc because of internet gaming I am involved in, but was going to get a macbook pro for extra design resources. Is there a problem using photoshop on the macbook? What does your statement about wishing it had a dedicated graphics card mean?
You suddenly worried me about buying an apple computer. :(

...snip... They have printed OLED displays on each key which can show images of letters or other icons representing shortcuts/functions that change depending on your active application. ...Here's one of them (http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus).
Nice idea, obviously very customisable, but for repetitive stuff in the hands of an experienced operator...don't you just become a touch typist?

When android phones are literally being given away, what is the surprise with the 'surge'? One system is popular because people want it, but the other will eventually surpass it because its an open system on many different phone platforms that are often included for "free".

By the way Thunderbolt is the high speed transfer highway of the future ... not SATA111, USB3.0 or the like.
But the boot drive still runs off of SATA, not TB. That boot drive can be one that is faster than SATA II can handle. There's really no reason not to update those busses to SATA III, pc's have had it for a while and even the last Macbook update upgraded that.

Just bought the app, within seconds, I could watch the tv on my iPhone. Using airport extreme, everything works out of the box, hassle free. Should have been perfect if iPhone Eyetv app can connect directly to HDHomeRun, no need to have the computer on all the time.
Edit: Required a reboot..

But doesn't AVCHD work in a way where some frames are estimated similarly to how HDV gets estimated frames?
Every time you hit "render", your file gets rendered in whatever you have asked FCP to use.
This is what happens when you do colour correction in FCP:

You must be new here. Just kidding.
Apple was first to bring realtime effects to a mainstream platform with motion as Motion used the GPU for effects. Eventually other large software houses followed suit. Problem is that Motion sucks in so many other ways it fell by the way side.
Now with Final Cut X Apple is leap frogging again with Grand Central Dispatch, etc. These speed advantages are a huge reason for some of the best editors in the world to stay onboard with final cut and buy more apple boxes - which cost about the same as a pc when you add the extra costs of 3rd party pc software and the like. Besides reliability is essential for editors and Macs have that in spades.
That's a bit disingenuous. Yes there are editors who use FCP. And yes many Avid editors also have an FCP license on their laptop or home computer as well. Why not, it's cheap and can use third party hardware.
When you compare actual employed editors who work in Film and Television, Avid is still king. Apple skews the numbers by comparing the amount of software sold, but it's better to look at the projects completed and see what tools were used.
The question is whether this new release and their strategy is going to continue to draw working editors away from Avid or just continue to be a great prosumer video editing tool that has gotten easier to use.
You can't evaluate the product based on an Apple pitch if you rely on your editing software for a living. How do you know it kicks out and accurate EDL? How do you know if it still kicks out solid OMF files to your sound designer?
Avid, Final Cut, Premiere, they are all just tools and you have to use the right tool for the job.

You're going to want to install Flip 4 Mac or whatever it's called. Plays windows media within QT shell.

What? Its by far one of the biggest games of the year in the games industry regardless of platform. PC news sites are covering it too, as would any platform specific news site when the most important games are being released.
Crazy.
And your point is? :D
People are still gonna complain unfortunately:( Its all about priorities. I for one am a huge Valve fan period(hence my interest in the thread)...that said, Im not super enthusiastic about MR threads on "Facetime Updates"/etc. People just care about different things...I dont think thats crazy;) Stay well friend!

Shows that RIM and Microsoft have their work cut out for them. Google and Apple is killing them.
The adoption of Android is no big surprise either... lots of free or low cost phones and access to every carrier.
Now... here comes one member that we all know that I'm sure will be sure to tell us all how Android is slaughtering Apple.... know who I mean? :p

3D audio cues? How would you get anything above 1D audio cues?
Headphones can reproduce 3D sound... Two speakers to feed the two holes in your head. Time and filter the signals properly and you can put a sound anywhere...
I'll hold back on how amazing the human hearing system is-- but if you ever get the chance to research it, do so.

That's never going to come. Microsoft has moved away from WebDAV. It's not included in Exchange 2007/2010 if I'm correct. And the only reason Windows versions of Outlook still work is that they are using MAPI currently, which I believe Microsoft is also doing away with.Exchange 2007 still supports WebDAV but 2010 does not - although installing 2007 SP3 breaks WebDAV even though MS say it should work. In any case Entourage 2008 and Outlook 2011 are both EWS compatible so there should be no WebDAV grief. Exchange 2003 will never support EWS.

I agree about iDVD. I use it more than iMovie. A 64-bit re-write is certainly tempting, but not at the expense of one of my favorite applications. Apple hopefully has something even better to replace it.

The worst part for myself is the death grip forced Apple to modify the bars displayed.
Turns-out, I've had awful AT&T service for years :(
I saw 5 bars for two minutes today after driving for two hours.

Simple. They don't have Republicans. They actually give a **** about each other and come together to help each other. In the US- it's every man for himself. Just ask a Libertarian.
You know what companies do when they're having trouble in Japan? They all take a pay cut- even the CEOs. They work TOGETHER as a team. Amazing what that can do for a society.
I don't think it's a problem of political party because plenty of looting has happened under democrat governments as well. As for the rest of your post, can't really disagree there. Some cultures just seem to handle times of distress with more grace than others.

Storing my files so that apple can dictate what I can or can't have on their servers? Companies essentially owning my content?
Yeah I think I'll pass.
Cloud based services are anti-technology, with garbage like this companies have no incentive to increase capacities on storage devices and all content would be under a corporation's server who's sole basis is to make money while holding your data hostage.
Apple specifically is one of the most unethical companies out there.
