Rumors of MacBook updates have been intermingled with the MacBook Pro rumors, with expectations of updates (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/09/20060919000003.shtml) before the holidays.
Nope. No C2D in the MacBook until 2007. Why? Distinguish product lines between MB vs. MBP with different chips. Also economics. With only CD in MacBooks, Apple makes more $$$ per MB.

LOL, just on the phone to my brother when that happened, your Aussie coverage is about 10 seconds ahead of ours, even though we're only down the road!

Well done Langer!
I think a wash-out will be a real disappointment. I can handle a draw in an earlier test but not a decider.

I don't know, looks to me like a Dell T5500 with no monitor and configured fairly close to the base Mac Pro costs $2962.00 after a $520 discount.
No. Hellhammer is right. The T3500 is comparable to the base-spec single-CPU MacPro. Same CPU, same RAM, just a different graphics card.

I've grown to dislike reading magazines on the iPad for several reasons.
1. PPI of iPad too low
2. Appification of magazines (why have an app for each?)
3. Not passing along the cost savings saved in printing/shipping to us.
All I want is a subscription that cost less than the Amazon.com price, uses a common app (e.g. like Zinio) and a screen whose PPI is near the DPI of magazines.
#3 they took the printing costs and turned them into costs for web developers to code each issue along with paying apple

Sorry but that's not the case, created an account just recently to provide my input on this issue on another thread. I am 3 iPads down with problems and still hoping the 4th will arrive with no leakage or dead pixels. I'm glad yours is "absolute fine" but if you do a search or just ask around you will find this is a widespread problem
by the same token, its always easier to find the units with issues, if they sell one million units and 5000 of them have an issue thats a % any company would take

Well if I get one for the wife, I am sure I will get laid plenty!!
Knock her up a few times and make the marriage worth it. Children offset how bitchy you wife can be.

I got an envelope full of info and my credentials...it came within a week of registering.
OK, I called and only people that registered just for the exhibits only got anything in the mail. For people that registered for the conference, they have to pick them up in person. They need to bring the receipt and a form of identification.

Is this a limited run as we had heard before?
No, according to Engadget and Joystiq.
Well, I guess I'm sticking to my plan of getting a premium X-Box 360 this summer. No point in paying extra for HDMI for my uses and 20 GB sounds plentiful for X-Box Live and game saves for me. Like I've said many times before, I wish there was a price drop, but it's not happening.

Seems like the only way to be an individual nowadays is to not have ANY piercings or tattoos. Isnt it kind of out of style when computer geeks are all about it?
What an ignorant statement
Those who are serious about piercing do it, not in an attempt for individuality, but as a form of self expression, ritual, culture, beauty and art.
I personally got my anti-brow temple piercing done because I love piercing and have loved it as an art form since I was 10 (when I got my ears pierced). I have read and studied and have given a presentation in a cultural diversity class in college on the subject of all bod mods as an art form, as a tribal ritual, culture etc. I love my eyebrows and eyes, I wanted a piercing that would accentuate them both, and have done exactly that. I am not a teen (pushing 30) who has gone and pierced myself out of angst or rebellion or in an attempt to seperate myself from the majority norm.
Bod Mod in all/most its forms goes all the way back the earliest records of human history around the world.

frankly i don't see them coming out with a new model this summer. they haven't even done their usual mid-cycle hd bump.
also everyone keeps saying that they come out with a new phone every summer. pardon, but 3gs was a new phone my s.
they didn't make a new model in time, so instead decided to dump the s "news" on us.
i imagine something similar will happen this summer. perhaps they will even update att's body to match verizon's. but somehow a whole new model just doesn't seem to fit. imho...
They didn't do the midseason memory bump for the 3Gs either, but they did do the Verizon iPhone so this could happen just to keep their AT&T customers around for more. I myself have been looking at android now more that I have an iPad to give me my apps for iOS... I could live without an iPhone now.

Is "TOC" a dyslexic version of "TCO"??
If not, please explain what you meant...

My work is sending myself and another developer to FlashForward....which is being hosted by Macworld this year.
I'll be there for the keynote and to check out some of the new "toys" everyone has to offer.
This is the first time I am going to a Macworld, so it should be interesting to see what it is like...Live:D

That kid's an arrogant little twirp in those commericals. If he's a Mac I'd rather be an abacus. Blech.
I'm really glad someone said this. These ads make me cringe.

We all know about the enforcement side of the burka, but we have yet to dissect the reason for same, as considered by the founders of the religion.
I have a few.
1) Stops 'grass is greener' by your neighbour
2) Stops laughing at his 'Cracker Jack' surprise.
3) Makes sure that no womb goes unused, in the service of Allah.
Any others come to mind?
I will let the women at MR discuss this from the female side.

Only problem is there aren't 10 million units in the consumers hands, more like 6 to 8.
Consider that, and the fact that most people I know that bought a launch 360 have had to replace it at least once(for some it was 3 to 5 times) - and your well beyond 0.1%
Although you could say the same thing for Sony's blunders, like DRE.
(but that would mean you have to say something positive about Sony)
All I hear is how crappy PS2 hardware was, and how 360 issues are blown out of proportion........

I'm hoping the press confrence is to tell us that Steve's been fired!
The guy has screwed up big time....but of course (some of) you guys wont agree because you would happily lick his boots!
The guy needs to be removed - he's done.
Wait wait wait a minute, you want this guy to the thing that puts food on his table for his family just over a product flaw which didn't affect that many people, yet was hyped by the media? (Well, hat's what I've read, I've seen numerous people say their iPhone 4 is perfectly fine minus the usual AT&T crap).
Onto the main thing, I'm just looking forward to the Press Conference in 5 or so hours. It's funny that no-one seems to really know what'll happen.
